Felt and Mosaics
Introduced to the joys of felt-making during a year spent living in West Cork, Joan Casey, a native of Waterford City, has been hand-making felt for the best part of 20 years.
Running parallel to this, Joan developed a practice in mosaic-making and has been teaching and demonstrating both crafts to all age groups at CELT events, adult evening classes, children’s play camps, Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Bloom in the Park and numerous other festivals, shows and fairs over the last 10 years or so.
Jane Jermyn began studying ceramics in her mid 40’s, receiving her MA from the National College of Art, Dublin in 2009.
She has travelled the world taking part in symposia, workshops and residencies in over 15 countries including Cuba, Siberia, much of Europe and South Africa, as well as demonstrating at international ceramics festivals in the UK, Japan, South Korea and India.
Jane has exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Ireland and abroad. Since 2017 she has been an elected member of the International Academy of Ceramics based in Geneva.
Len Canton, who hails from Cork City, has been working leather for over 40 years. Since 2011, he has been teaching and demonstrating his skills to both adults and children at a variety of events, including the Electric Picnic, Bloom In The Park, All Together Now, CELT Weekend in the Woods, CELT Weekend in the Hills and other smaller festivals, shows and fairs.
